Hourly Review & Advisory

You have questions. I have answers (or at least opinions).

Sometimes you don't need a package. You need someone who's been through it to look at what you've got and talk it through. Book an hour, bring whatever you're working on, and I'll tell you what I see, what AHCA is likely to question, and what I'd do about it.

$350 per hour

Paid in advance when you book. Book one hour or several.

What we can talk through

  • Your licensure application, omission letters, and AHCA correspondence
  • Getting ready for an initial licensure or standard survey
  • Independent contractor language and day-to-day practices
  • Policies, procedures, and forms you've drafted
  • Operations: client and caregiver onboarding, software, and payment models
  • Whatever else is on your mind about your registry

How it works

  1. Book and pay. Choose how many hours you need. Time is paid in advance at booking.
  2. Send what you have. If you want me to look at documents, send them ahead of time along with your questions.
  3. We talk it through. We meet by phone or video, go through it together, and I give you my honest take.
  4. Billing. Billed by Nurse Registry Consultant, LLC. Services are performed by Scott Strachan, RN, BSN.

Not every question has a clear answer

Some of these situations don't have a clear answer. The rules leave room for interpretation, and reasonable people land in different places. When that's the case, I'll tell you so, share how I'd approach it and why, and help you think it through for your situation.

Florida first

My answers are rooted in Florida statute and AHCA rules, because that's where I've built and run a licensed nurse registry. If you're in another state, I'm happy to talk through independent contractor principles and how they may relate to you. You'll want to confirm the specifics for your state.

Why me

I'm Scott Strachan, RN, BSN. I've been the administrator of Abby Services, Inc., a licensed Florida nurse registry in Fort Myers, since 2007, and I've worked in Florida nurse registries since 1997. What I share comes from doing this work every day. Read my full background.

Good to know

  • I'm not a lawyer or an accountant. Nothing we discuss is legal, tax, or accounting advice. For those questions, talk with a licensed professional.
  • What I offer is my experience, knowledge, and insight. Decisions about your registry, and confirming how the rules apply to it, are yours.
  • Full terms are in the Hourly Review & Advisory Agreement.
